If you’re captivated by miniature scenes, you're not alone! But what influences the cost of storybox art ? Let’s explore the key factors that shape these prices. Key influences on storybox art pricing:

• Size and Scale: Larger boxes require more materials and time. A tiny 4x6 inch box is less costly than a 10 X 9 scene.

• Materials Used: Cutting and drilling tools, paints, adhesives, high quality items like resins, wood, plexi, archival ink and paper and handmade miniatures add to costs. Shipping for these materials has also escalated.

• Complexity: Simple scenes are less expensive than intricate ones with multiple items or lighting.

• Artist’s Time and Skill: More detailed work takes more time, which impacts pricing.

• Customization: Personalized dioramas often come with a premium. My minimum for a custom order is $150. Depending on how much time and how many items are involved, it can stay close to that. But intricate scenes and complex backgrounds typically drive the cost up to $250 and above.

   Research, storyboarding, locating specific items and client consultations are part of the creative process and all take time

4. Tools and Equipment

   Specialized tools contribute to overall pricing. Having a photo printer, archival papers and inks are essential. While these costs are indirect, they factor into the overall pricing.

5. Packaging and Shipping

   Delicate dioramas require careful packaging. Bags, bubble, boxes, labels and tissue all cost money, affecting shipping costs.
